Cosmetic Eyeliner Aftercare

Import Notes

Please read all pages carefully to ensure the best understanding of your eyeliner aftercare. Eyeliner is a cosmetic tattooing procedure and the aftercare is crucial in achieving the best result.

The guide will also help answer any questions and prepare you for the stages of healing which can be a shock if not prepared.

Immediate Eyeliner Aftercare

The first 24hrs

Instantly after the eyeliner tattoo treatment, you may notice swelling and a bit of bruising around the eye area. Your body will also be producing a yellow looking lymph fluid. This is a normal occurrence of a healthy immune system

Continue Your Aftercare

The next 7 days

In the next 7 days, maintain facial hygiene. If you are finding a lot of excess ink building up, very gently dab your eyes with a clean and new fragrance-free baby wipe once a day.
Be careful not to rub your eyes and only gently dab them as you could possibly rub the ink out of your freshly tattooed eye liner.

Not To Do

What to avoid

During the first 7 days:
Avoid creams, moisturisers, or make-up on the eye area and only use the aftercare cream provided. If you prefer, you may use paw paw cream instead.

Do not rub the eye or pick at any scabs that form. Applying aftercare cream will soften the skin and allow scabs to fall away naturally. Apply the cream before showering. The eyeliner tattoo can get wet, but the cream will act as a barrier.

Following these steps will support infection-free healing and a clearer colour result.

During the first 30 days:
Avoid sunbathing and solariums, as the skin may look ok on the surface but will still be healing underneath.

Laser treatments may be carried out during this period but must avoid the eye area (including Fraxel and IPL), as they can damage pigment and cause burns.

Avoid antibiotics and hormonal therapy, as these can cause faster pigment fading. Always protect the eyes from the sun with SPF 50 — either directly or within a moisturiser, ensuring it is applied over the eyes.

Your Outcome

Factors that effect your results

The success of the treatment depends on many factors including but not limited to:

  • Skin quality
  • Post-treatment flow & care
  • Exposure to different environments

All of these factors are out of the artist’s control, so any possibility to provide guarantees for the treatment is excluded. We always say:

“50% OF THE TREATMENT IS BY US AND THE OTHER 50% IS YOU LOOKING AFTER IT”

Please rest assured that everyone’s healing process is different and it’s an interesting process to watch first hand.
